yes, in my case only very close friends know how it works (and only my best friend knows about the belt), the others found out at some point that i was in a relationship, but not any more.

I would say that german and french are equally difficult, but as insiders we can't judge that very well. 😉

yes, but it is generally difficult to find someone who speaks german and french. i can only think of people from switzerland. 😉

It is quite logical, even if Spanish and French do not have so close similarities as Spanish and Italian (we were the same country for centuries) or Portuguese, learning French is easier for a Spanish speaker than learn German.
2000 years later we are enjoying still the advantages of Roman Empire.

in our school the first foreign language is english and the second french or spanish. but since my school had a special form i never learned a second foreign language, except for one year of french when i was 12 (and no i don't remember anything 😂 ).

it's true, it's a beautiful language, just like spanish is a beautiful language. but somehow my brain stops working when it comes to foreign languages, english was always my worst subject at school. 😉

English has the enormous advantage that it is a relatively easy language and very extended.
That allows even to the people, as me, that do not speak rightly maintain a conversation.
It is the English what allows us participate in this forum.
English is a great tool.

In my case,when I started to read and write in english on the net,it has improved.Much more useful than learning it more classically.

In France,almost.It is very rare to be allowed to learn another first additional language than English,as far as I know.More choice for the second additional language(even if,unlike some states of the USA,I don't think we can choose "Klingon"!😉).
