Hi I said a bit in the first thoughts discussion but I'm trying to work out the fit.

I'm trying with both sides in the middle holes. It's better a bit looser but then it sits lower and the crotch is too loose. So I've got the band on middle holes and just the inner crotch on and the second layer on the cable hanging loose. It's tight mostly on the side my hips, if i push the front and back in the shape is better and sits a bit lower. The front bit of crotch band doesn't sit well either it's a bit short so leaning forward not snugged under - so the other band which goes over to keep it tight won't reach.

The hip part flexes ok but doesn't stay where i push it. I'm scared to stuff it up with bends in the wrong place. The crotch piece needs to be straighter but also has a curve left to right and is really hard to bend. Hope that makes sense. Can anyone tell what works fit bending? The hip part seems easy enough -like I'm strong enough- but feels like it could kink not nicely bend.

Trying to understand all the issues.

    Jen
Well, even if my belt has different architecture, can I ask you some questions?

1- It is tight in your hips, but it slides down?
2- Are not you used to wear tight clothes?
3- I believe, that the key, is that crotch is not well measured.
4- steel is very flexible, but it is stubborn...

Jen Who is the make of the belt?

      • Jen replied to this.

Tobbe it's my-steel hip and cable back - the comfort one on their site.

Ines 1- It is tight in your hips, but it slides down?

The size which feels right on the hips the crotch is loose i can push it up and the whole belt moves up. With it one spot tighter it's higher on my hips - I've got curvy hips 😄. But i think i can make this work with the right bending.

Ines 2- Are not you used to wear tight clothes?

I'm happy in tight clothes! But i read the cable is like a thong and no it's not the cable is much more noticeable than a thong.

Ines 3- I believe, that the key, is that crotch is not well measured.

Yeah getting the second lock seems safer

Jen In general terms I find that belts are supposed to fit a lot tighter than my body expects!! I therefore adjust for what I think I could probably get used to rather than for what is comfortable at the start. Going for what's tolerable rather than comfortable improves security and without the latter there's no point in putting up with the belt at all.

Neosteel suggests bending the metal over the arm of a chair or similar - this helps to avoid all kinks (except for chastity belt kinks, they're inevitable 🤣 ). Working from both sides over an object can also help you to get the bends where you want them. Otherwise I use firm pressure between both thumbs an forefingers, bending a little further than what I want to allow for spring-back from the metal. In the absence of a machine shop I've found myself using my fingers and toes to hold things during the process.

It's a case of trial and error, as long as you are patient you'll be able to iron out any bends that make the fit worse and discover changes that help. Often just a subtle change in shape in the right place can resolve pressure points entirely. You can probably get the belt changed/adjusted by the manufacturer if you really need to, but most of my belts were basically fine, so I'd say now is the time to work with what you've got as a belt rather than reject it as badly fitting. Take your time, and enjoy the sheer insanity of it all. Lol. 😂

OK, so when It is tight in your hip, you have plenty of space behind your shield.

Jen I'm happy in tight clothes! But i read the cable is like a thong and no it's not the cable is much more noticeable than a thong.

No, I was asking it about you because, maybe, you usually wear loose clothes and a tight belt can surprise you. And, I guess that a thick cable, has to be much more noticeable than a small light fabric strap.

              🤣🤣 it is it is!

Jonas Working from both sides over an object can also help you to get the bends where you want them.

I don't think I can do it in my hands but this tip makes sense and over the edge of my bed will work I think.

Ines OK, so when It is tight in your hip, you have plenty of space behind your shield.

How did so many people try your sisters belt is it more adjustable? I guess no one needed it on properly.
If I get the shape right I think I can wear it on the smaller position then it will be held up higher and the shield is tight -maybe too much. I was expecting tight but I see Jonas write lot tighter than expected.

Jen How did so many people try your sisters belt is it more adjustable?

No, but It does not is further some seconds, you know, they can hold it with a hand, or close it and is very tight...
No matter because is a joking try.

                Jen

Jen Can anyone tell what works fit bending?

I got my Dad to hep me with mine. He put it in a vise, well padded so it wouldn't get marked. Then he leaned on it some and then moved it in the vise and leaned again then moved it again in the vise and pushed on it some so it bent slightly kind of all around after a few iterations and I tried it and finally it felt good but I do not wear it really tight.

                • Jen replied to this.

Jen It is not possible to adjust so much on that model.
You can try to change which hole you have the waist belt locked. Try it out and see if you can find the perfect position, which provides the best protection.

Otherwise, maybe it's just to send it back and shorten the wire in the crotch part, so it gets tighter.

                  • Jen replied to this.

If you send it back, take some pics of the fit from a few different angles (over the top of bathers or underpants) so that they can see exactly what needs to be done.

                      Jen

Jen It may be that you're simply adjusting to it, and it to you. But you could also contact MySteel and see what they suggest. Did you get their measurung kit first?

                      @Jen

Do your parents still have the measurements? I would perhaps measure whether the measurements of the belt correspond to the measurements your parents sent in.

                      • Jen replied to this.

Hi I'm making progress but also getting a bit over it really. Bending the hip band is easy really once you start. I ditched the main shield just got the secondary all the way under to the lock - not comfortable don't recommend! But it's easier to feel how the hip band pulls. Still need to find a bit more room.

Avery He put it in a vise

lol got no vise here. Would be easier with help for sure.

Tobbe You can try to change which hole you have the waist belt locked

Yep there's sort of two spots on my hip will sit so trying to make the higher tighter spot work. Still lots under my waist though.

Sin If you send it back, take some pics...

Sending back means more talk with mum n dad so yeah not keen on that

Angelina i read it should be measured multiple times - that didn't happen. They'd have it in email but seems pointless

Jen Sending back means more talk with mum n dad so yeah not keen on that

but not returning it means you may have to wear an uncomfortable belt at some point.

Jen They'd have it in email but seems pointless

your parents sent the measurements to the manufacturer. check the belt to see if the measurements match. if not, it is a mistake on the part of the manufacturer.

Jen it's my-steel hip and cable back - the comfort one on their site.

Maybe send it back, explaining the problems, would be the best solution.

They could adjust it more easily.

Jen But i think i can make this work with the right bending.

Could you ask your father to do it?

                            A bit more,it is thicker.

                            Jen I was expecting tight

It should be.But not painfully,of course.

                            Sin

                            Good idea.

Jen i read it should be measured multiple times - that didn't happen. They'd have it in email but seems pointless

Maybe you can try to measure yourself(can be hard),to check if the measures were right.

Angelina your parents sent the measurements to the manufacturer. check the belt to see if the measurements match. if not, it is a mistake on the part of the manufacturer.

I would think more of an error when taking the measures(or when typing these),than an error of the manufacturer.

From your comments I suspect tht the waist band needs to be very gently bent so it moldes to your waistand and posssibly the crotch band the same

I believe that length of crotch piece is now well measured and it is so long, and probably the cable too. If it is well fitted it avoids you can move up the belt when waist is well tight around your hips.

probably, but it would be worth a try 😉
