Rina I'm not from some religious family or something, but I'm from average Asian family. So I don't really know about how dynamics in religious families work, but I know somewhat about conservative families (ie my relatives). Even they would think electroshock as a punishment for kids is not normal at all.
i agree with you, even my father wouldn't do that because he would never want to cause me physical pain. i also find the idea kind of scary, as i have read the electric shocks can be given without any warning. the idea of being locked up in something that can give me electric shocks at any moment would drive me crazy
