Joh Sure it is possible and already done. But it is depended on the wearer and which tool you have. It the wearer is caution it will not break a plastic security seal with unique number.. If you use a steel string a bolt cutters will open it.

Right, so for us, we don't need inescapable, but we do need "easy to remove in an emergency", and "obvious if it's been tampered with". We're looking for devices that are secure enough to prevent secret cheating, or at least that make it risky enough that neither of us will try it for fear of the punishment if caught.

How about a chain with a carabiner hook and a security seal that is slightly longer than the carabiner? The purpose of the hook being to avoid tension on the seal wire that prevents accidental ripping

Use instead a stainless steel wire of 1.5mm diameter. It is strong enough not to break and makes no noise.

Hello.
It will depend if Chan can slide across the D rings. In mi case chain links are welded and do no slide, I mean, it is a line of chain and no an "O".
If you lock the " O" with a padlock, it will rumble even more due to the weight and you feel the padlock weight and finally your tendency is to close the legs when you walk because the padlock pulls of the chain.
Cable, at the end, it is the same, cable has a stiffness that forces your walking way.

I hope I could explain me rightly.

my father wrapped the chain in rubber, so it was barely audible, if that's your concern

Or take a carabiner, drill a hole through the tong and groves where the latch meets the frame, and then run a security seel through that.

However to wrap it, increases the rigidity of the chain. The best option is coated links chain. Less rattling, and it holds the comfortability of the chain.

it always depends on which material is used. in my case it was a very soft rubber which didn't really make the chain any stiffer than if i had worn it without rubber

Thanks, that's good to know. I guess we'll need to experiment to find out what the right level of restrictive and inconvenient is.

frankly I don't know, I think something like PVC or something like that

The best chance is the coated links, rattling in close to 0 and it is less disturbing even if only are used in home.

Well, I'm getting to try out thighbands for myself for the long weekend, because apparently it's only fair I know what they're like if I'm going to make my girlfriend wear them. Today has been... Hard work doing a lot of things. I'm not looking forward to sleeping in them either, since I like to sprawl to avoid overheating.

Angelina Well, if I'm sitting at a desk all day, the thigh bands aren't really a big deal. For sleeping, they're fairly bad, because I like to sprawl so I don't overheat, but they're not the worst punishment for sleeping in. For actually walking around and getting stuff done, they're extremely restrictive, and if I need to go into the loft or similar they're probably not practical. I'd say they're a worse punishment than nappies / diapers during the day, but easier at night. So, my girlfriend will probably be thigh bands whilst at home, but not when she's out.

that's how most people handle it, i can only confirm that it would certainly be extremely restrictive during normal everyday life
