Joh It is a difficult question if the government has the right or not. As far as I see they have the right to enforce it for people of their country.

a government always has a duty to protect its citizens, so ukraine is sending people to their deaths.

Sara2001 Why Strasbourg, if there are violations of human rights, it should be Den Haag. But at least for now, I think what the Ukrainian government is doing is in line with the human rights.

the european court of human rights is in strasbourg, i don't think it is legal to leave people in a war zone against their will, that is at least negligent homicide.

To go back to the purpose of this thread, the potential for punishment has gotten Goody to accept occasionally wearing her old schoolgirl outfit again. (Thanks to good living and exercise, it still fits her!) it’s the exact opposite of the sexy-schoolgirl stereotype, as it’s from literally 1989 at a legit Catholic school. But it’s still a cute blazer, blouse, and appropriately modest skirt, haha.

Though to be sure, this is uncommon. I’m not using Goody as my dress-up doll — well, not very much, anyway!

Of course what Putin does is not legal, Looks like you are right, I always had Den Haag in mind.

Yes, as well. It is a balance the leader has to manage. To get the right view at this topic you have to read the Ukraine law and take it to account. Peeking only one to ignore the rest is not a good way.

Joh she’s not the internet addict that I am, but I can be pretty persuasive in getting her to come post when the choice is writing or standing in the corner!

as i have a little fable for it, i think the idea is quite cute, although i rather like shorter school uniforms. i hope she has fun and you are not too strict teacher 😂

Den Haag is the international court and frankly I was talking more about the ukrainians who have to fight a war against their will, but of course Putin belongs there as well.

as it is a violation of human rights, it has nothing to do with the ukrainian law, even if such laws still exist in many countries today, they are illegal because they violate human rights.

Saintprudence but I can be pretty persuasive in getting her to come post when the choice is writing or standing in the corner!

            interesting deal 😉

I’m not too strict at all! I prefer shorter as well but Goody put a hard limit that she would only wear a modest school uniform. Being an actual Catholic schoolgirl made her pretty touchy about the whole sexy-schoolgirl thing!

Angelina I do enjoy using my authority to make Goody dress up a bit more in general. She’s a real sweats-and-t-shirt type and I’ve been trying to get her to dress a bit more nicely lately. She looks very good in a skirt and stockings, since pantyhose isn’t an option in a belt. She kinda hates the stockings but I kinda love them, haha. It’s a good thing she likes making me happy!

I have not heared about any Ukrainian war crimes so far.

I know of one event that can be discussed. Because the press and television in Russia are not allowed to report on the war, Ukraine prisoners of war were able to tell their parents by video how they are doing. Good intention but this is not allowed by the individual parties. This is done by the International Red Cross.
As far as I know, they stopped doing it after they were criticised.

If it's done by the red cross, it's not done by the Ukraine.

i just hope it hasn't triggered negative sides of you. you have a religious background, so it could also be a strong trigger.

that makes me happy. it's interesting that i'm both types. at home i'm more of a t-shirt and jogging trousers person and when i go out i'm the elegant evening dress type. so you can combine both 😉

Sara2001 I have not heared about any Ukrainian war crimes so far.

no, not war crimes, only russia is currently responsible for that. i am talking about the fact that men between 18 and 60 are not allowed to leave the country, i consider that a violation of human rights.

Angelina i just hope it hasn't triggered negative sides of you. you have a religious background, so it could also be a strong trigger.

It hasn’t. Dressing her up has opened some sensitive and loving sides as well. I went to Catholic school too, but I was seen as a boy and had to wear a suit and tie. I have schoolgirl uniforms of my own now that fit nicely and look good as well.

Angelina i am talking about the fact that men between 18 and 60 are not allowed to leave the country, i consider that a violation of human rights.

I am inclined to agree that this is blatant age and gender discrimination, which are pretty bad things from a human rights standpoint. But all the human rights declarations of the modern world were written with input from governments who want to be able to compel their citizens to fight for the government's survival, so mandatory military service is often listed as an exception to rules against discrimination, restricting migration and slavery. So no, it is not a violation of any widely-recognized human rights, but it is a violation of some of the principles underlying those rights.

Sara2001 If it's done by the red cross, it's not done by the Ukraine.

It was done by the Ukraine and they were criticised for not being allowed to do that. After that they stopped it.
I see it as well-intentioned, but it turned out to be a mistake because it belongs to the responsibility of the Red Cross. Ukraine wanted to let the parents know where their sons are and that they are well.

Angelina i am talking about the fact that men between 18 and 60 are not allowed to leave the country, i consider that a violation of human rights.

I think this decision is legal when you are under attac or at war. I think it's covered by the charta of human rights or something similar. Personally it feels wrong for me, too. But I think it's not a violation of human rights from a legal perspective.

This weekend Goody happily accepted wearing her school uniform in exchange for being unbelted. She’s pouting a little at realizing I’m not letting her out of my sight with the belt off, which is ADORABLE.
