It is reasonable usage. 24/7 is not only a nonsense but also unhealthy.

I agree that 24/7 is often very hard and I would prefer to have more time without the tightbands, but I can see the benefits in having to wear them 24/7, too. I can tell from my own experience that it doesn't made me ill or less healthy, except it reduces my ability to do most sports a lot.

Don't get me wrong, I am happy for everyone who doesn't have to wear it 24/7, but even if it is really time consuming, it is possible and from my perspective it adds some security whenever we are on our own and because this can happen all the time during the day, I can understand why my boyfriend wants me to wear them 24/7.

Legs are one of the "engines" of blood circulation, so to have them cramped 24/7 is not healthy, I know it is not your decision, but it is very dangerous, thrombi in medium time can be one of the risks, for example.

Ines Yes, I know this happens when you don't move at all like on long distance flights or when you are in bed all day, maybe in a hospital or something, but I think I walk the same amount of steps like many other people. I just don't run.

And at least staying in the tightbands after marriage is my decision but yes, I will get more time without any chain after marriage.

Not only, but mainly because it is far more common, when you walk at good rhythm, the muscles of the legs have contractions, and they "pump" the blood.
And can exist, even, a risk of necrosis... and we do not talk, even, about possibilities of some muscular atrophy.
When you limit so much and so many time the movement there are entire groups of muscles that you do not use at all.
24/7 usage of bands has a lot of drawbacks.

It It is difficult to answer since there are no, or I am not aware of, studies, but I would not recommend using them other than in the domestic sphere, which is already many hours, and ensure several hours of mobility to benefit blood circulation, prevent atrophies, that the ligaments do not harden...

Ines I think this is nothing I could get. I think maybe I could discuss about one hour of sports without the chain per day, but I think several hours is unrealistic for me. Especially because I have no real problems so far, but I think it's worth to give it a try.

Abby82 Yea, i used to have the chain going through the crotch but i managed to convince my parents that it doesnt provide any security and makes toilet visits hard. Convincing them wasn't easy but after them checking it they agreed to just have the chain between the bands.

You have to show and insist... I personally never thought Thighbands were real because I have never seen those and no one I know in real life has thighbands but some people like @Ines see some advantages some of the time.

I don't think I could convince my parents to give me any more breaks than they already do, which is an hour per day.

It is not because pressure, it is for the lack of movement. However, as it is logical, even pressure is not always the same.

I am not sure if it is important for blood circulation the you do a large variety of moves and would have expected that the amount itself is most important.

Sara2001 i would argue that it may well be possible that specific moves can matter, as blood and other fluid vessels are everywhere and movement mostly helps with the nearby ones. So if you can never move your legs apart, the vessels on the inside of your thigh might get very little action.

If you don't use your muscles they will degenerate or not develop properly. The ligaments also shorten if they are not used.
A well-known example is wearing high heels all the time. The ligaments shorten and you can no longer wear shoes without heels.
Muscles that did not develop properly in youth will always be weaker later on, even if you train them a lot. The reverse is also true. If you did a lot of sport in your childhood and youth, your muscles will remember it later and get back to a good level more quickly. Even after longer breaks.

Ines I see that you think like engineer a lot, which is always interesting view to me. As we both agree, it has certain usage, but I believe that it should be limited for short - term usage. For example, if you wear it on weekend, that'd be weekend with limited movements, but still, short term one. :

While I'd be very unhappy (to be polite, as we're polite people here, right?) in 24/7 wear of the bands, I'd gladly accept my idea, mostly for testing purposes. 😅

As I kid I run and climb trees and things like that a lot. Maybe my muscles already remember. I don't have the feeling that my muscles in this area became weaker, but you all are right, I can't really compare. After marriage in summer I will be able to do supervised sports without the chain on a daily basis, I hope this will help.

Unfortunately, I cannot judge whether this is sufficient or not. You will have to find out for yourself. I think it is good that you are aware of this problem.

Would Yoga be a option now? Their are online groups and videos. You can do it at home and if you would do it tree times per week for 30 minutes it would make a big difference.
