I love playing the game and I love playing a little too close to the edge, which is why I always toy with the idea of giving the keys to both our belts to my wife's mother and seeing what happens.
One reason I find Rafael and his family so fascinating is that the local customs back them up completely. I have this recurring image of seeing myself moving to an area much like that, and shortly afterwards getting a knock on the door from a very friendly Rafael-type who welcomes us to the neighborhood and concludes his speech with "It's come to our attention that you are a trans woman and you are in a lesbian marriage, and since we very much disapprove of this sort of thing, we have no choice but to ask you to hand over the keys to both your belts."
Someone asked like that, I would probably give them the keys! My wife, Goody, totally wouldn't, which is why she's the rational one in this marriage 🙂.
