Cb85 from what I've read, 10-15 days or something is where your urges peak, so if you can get past that, it supposidly only gets easier from there because your hormones settle.

Not sure if I mentioned it here before, but there was some research paper back in the early 2000s or something that had supporting evidence data for performance with balanced abstinence and stimulus. I ironically only discovered this was a thing when I stumbled upon a sports manga where an athelete finds a new trainer and is required to abstain from self gratification to enhance his performance, and coincidentally the second ever mention I heard was on a podcast talking about michael reeve's intense boxing training program where he found out the hard way how much of a difference it made (or rather, the detriment in performance from letting it out early was).

Interesting. This is the subject of a scene in the movie Raging Bull which was made in 1980, except it involves sex with the fighter's wife, not self-gratification.

      I peaked at 3 weeks.

I mean, the basic theme (orgasm less frequently to train more effectively) can be found pretty much everywhere as anecdotes, but you rarely see the results of serious research on that matter.

youdontknowme can be found pretty much everywhere as anecdotes

True. For example I have found my running times have improved greatly since I stopped getting myself laid.

        youdontknowme

I'm not an athlete, so I can only guess, but I guess it depends on how the orgasm-free time has a psychological effect. If it has a positive effect, it increases performance, if it has a negative effect, it reduces performance. a friend of mine once said sport is 10% talent, 10% training and 80% mental health, that could explain it

Angelina The main claim for males is usually around hormone levels. Testosterone tends to take a dip after orgasm and testosterone levels are usually at least somewhat correlated with sexual arousal, so it is easy to assume that unfulfilled desire will lead to elevated testosterone.

Angelina do men perform better with high or low testosterone levels

High - at least in most sports.
Testosterone is the dominant male sex hormone and higher levels make for greater muscle mass, more agressiveness (while not necessarily desirable in everyday environment it certainly helps to get the edge in competitive sports), etc.

Angelina I mean, in very oversimplified terms, testosterone is what makes a man a man, and considering the relative performance of top male versus female athletes...

Also, it is an anabolic steroid, and injecting those is generally banned by most sporting organizations as doping. So if you can create that stuff in your body naturally...

Cb85 well at 32 days I was bathing and cleaning myself (best I can down there) and I spontaneously ejaculated with out feeling an orgasm. 😳 so I guess that says something

It seems sensible not to activate the body's major reward system until after you've got peak performance out of it.

Certainly I find that chastity keeps me active, alert and in the moment ....very different than when I was wanking all the time.

Jonas Certainly I find that chastity keeps me active, alert and in the moment

Makes sense from an evolutionary perspective. If males, of any species, became more lethargic when they were horny they would not pursue females with the necessary vigor and the species would die out.

I always thought that was mainly due to the different anatomy (i.e. muscle mass, strength of the joints, etc.)

that happened to my father once too, apparently men have to "discharge" at some point 😂

And hormones play a huge role in how those grow. So abstaining just before the big match might not be as good as a very frustrated multi-year training regimen.

I’ve been practicing semen retention by myself, without a chastity device, since I was 18 (I’m 29). I still find it extremely difficult to get past a few weeks without orgasm but I have gone 4-8 weeks in times when I wasn’t focused on sex at all and was fasting . I find it’s hard not to think in a way that gets me slightly aroused, and then I happen to get blue balls very easily so the game quickly becomes painful. Fasting helps my body not want to cum as much. I have a ball trap cage but I haven’t gotten used to it for long term wear. I might save up for a full belt. I like how the cage/belt can keep me from getting hard. I also like the feeling of increased vitality and testosterone that comes with semen retention (I think women like this too).

Last night my wife was super turned on so I assisted her in being satisfied.
                      She slept really well 😉
But she was concerned for me.
It wasn’t really easy but not super difficult either.
It was a nice experience just focusing on her.
