Sexual desire is a tricky one. When I was your age, I still identified as male, and quite honesty chastity would have been good for me. Instead I just suffered incredible guilt after self-pleasuring. I’m a lot older now, and I’ve been kept belted for a few years by my wife to prevent that guilt. But since I’m married, I do get guilt-free pleasure on occasion (just not as much as I’d like, haha.)
Of course, the advantage of mechanically enforced chastity is that you don’t have much choice but to cope with unfulfilled desire. You could be in a tight spot for a while because chastity only really works with a firm keyholder you can trust and is nearby.
