Masturbating 2-3x per week may not be “excessive” in terms of health, but my goal is to quit masturbation completely. This goal may or may not be possible without a belt, it’s for this goal that I am considering wearing a belt.
As for a keyholder, I would want a trustworthy friend to hold the key. Doesn’t have to be a romantic partner but it could be. I might try using a safe with a timed lock on it to let me out for monthly cleaning and to allow an erection. With friends it is an uncomfortable question to ask, with a romantic partner, it’s uncomfortable and also it seems many keyholders misuse their power and tyrannize the relationship. I probably have enough self discipline to use a time lock safe.
I’m going to try using the time lock safe against my marijuana habit before I try anything with a chastity belt. Chastity belts are very expensive! I’m hesitant to buy one, unless I’m confident it will help my goals. I’m not even considering a cage that is secured by a ring around the testicles, ouch! So it’s looking like $500-$1000 for a custom fitted belt. The time lock safe is about $150.
My doubts come partly from how to enforce it effectively, and mostly does the chastity belt help reduce sexual arousal through lack of access to sex organs? or does it actually increase sexual arousal through the mind by being an uncomfortable reminder of one’s sexual condition? If it is too arousing it might not help my goal. If I’m very aroused and have been denied orgasm a long time, I can bring myself to orgasm hands free, just by doing keegle exercises while laying down, this would basically defeat the purpose of the belt.
