Max9 ok he was jewish though
Not sure what the point of that was. Can you explain further?
Max9 people believe in his theories, even in the ones that couldn't be proofen, but nobody wants to hear anything about his religious believe
I think the point some of us would like to make is that Einstein's theories were testable. By that I mean his theories made predictions which are testable and that repeated testing conducted by many different institutions continue to verify that the predictions his theories make, bear out in fact to within measurable tolerances.
On the other hand Einstein's religious beliefs do not make testable predictions, hence they are not scientific theories and are thus consigned to the forgettable part of his life by most scientists. Me included!
Einstein's special gift was that he could think and create thought experiments which made testable predictions. He is not special because his non-testable beliefs.
In the way that you think its "funny" that atheists pick out only what they "want to believe", many of us atheists find it amusing that religious people always want to ignore the fact that their "beliefs" do not make testable and useful predictions. (Got to admit I love debating this stuff π€£ )
Atheists "believe" in a theory up until tests prove its predictions are false. Religious people believe what ever they believe out of faith. I have no problem with that until followers of religions cause harm by insisting that other follows their views, prejudices, biases and all the other nasty things that have been done in the name of religion. And forcing someone into mechanical chastity against their will and brainwashing religious beliefs that sex out of marriage and masturbation is somehow evil or bad for them without providing supporting evidence somehow makes me feel incredibly sad for the young people so brainwashed.
