shinydiamond77 science and medicine are not really relevant here. Let me give you an analogy. Science and medicine is pretty clear on why periods happen, and that they're a normal and healthy part of women's life. But it's still necessary to wear a pad or a tampon, no matter how healthy it is to have a period.

Pads and tampons don't prevent your period, they assist in dealing with it. So in that sense, if you want to help your child deal with her "other" completely normal physiological conditions, perhaps you should buy her a vibrator. You know, to assist her in dealing with it. 😆

I know when we get a massage at school after running the masseurs always place a fluffy white towel with the school seal on it across our bums to discourage any such touching. Doing the inner thighs does give you a nice little tingle nonetheless.

I think being a self-keyholder is not a good test. For example I am a self-keyholder. No, I mean "people who truly are interested in chastity for themselves". Now they might wear a belt or a cage or nothing and just take cold showers or pray or something else. They might do it for religious reasons or have a partner who is away or be troubled by having had too many partners or fear they are masturbating too much or think because they value virginity or another valid reason. They don't do it because they are forced to emotionally or physically or because they will be cut off by their families.

But yes, plenty of people who choose chastity for themselves never wear any device. Conversely, there are reasons other than ensuring your own chastity why you would wear a device that you have the keys to, the most obvious being protection from external threats, whether that be violent transgressions or pushy dates.

Also, worth pointing out that chastity means different things for different people. By itself, the word just means abstaining from sexual acts deemed inappropriate. But which acts are inappropriate? Most churches tell us everything that is not between a married person and their spouse is, from masturbation to adultery to pre-marital sex. But not everyone subscribes to religious morality. Having sex with someone other than your partner while in a monogamous relationship is considered inappropriate by almost everyone, but many deem masturbation and pre-marital sex as acceptable. But most of those would not think of themselves as "practising chastity" for not sleeping around.

But yeah, the amount of people here who wear a belt due to external pressure is too damn high, and I hope that at least some of those stories are either made up or exaggerated for dramatic effect.

Yes, to not wear a device and remain chaste requires discipline and I respect those who have that discipline. And I've seen them (girls from Liberty U. and Brigham Young U.) and wondered about them. And also what it's like to be married when you are 19. But it's hard to learn about them. Even if I've seen a girl several times I can't just walk up to her and inquire. And the fact that they exist seems to confuse some people.

Sure, you have to work on it to get it. To wear a belt or cage may help to overcome difficult situation but it is not a solution. Still you have to learn self-control.
