Vanessa Until he got 2-3 good grades, and so,proved he managed to improve these.

and as long as this did not happen, the punishment was simply extended again and again, or how can i imagine this?

Angelina A temporary punishment need not have a fixed term. It is still temporary if there is a way out that does not take years and/or a fundamental life change. She said that usually (at least that is how I interpret the "generally") the punishments were for a predetermined time, but that does not mean that this particular instance was.

youdontknowme A temporary punishment need not have a fixed term.

I see it differently, at least I would call it differently

Vanessa Exactly, often it is for two weeks to a month, but, this time,it was until his grades improved.

so it was always different? sometimes for a time and sometimes until the grades improved?

Vanessa It was the only time it was not for a set duration,so more an exception

ah ok, of course not so good for your brother

          Angelina

Yes,but not the best to prove they were right when thinking it would make him improves his grades.

            Vanessa

of course, like many things in life, there are advantages and disadvantages and besides, we probably agree that there are better ways to get better grades. 😉
