It's interesting finding out what words in what languages can be used and where. E.g. I heard a commentator from the United Kingdom on a US TV station talking about words like bloody, wind, shagging, words that don't exist in the US version of English (well, wind does but it means something totally different in the UK). I don't remember what he said but some words can be used on the telly and some can't. Lots of people use the word I represented as f---ing but you can't say it on TV and I would never say it in front of my father. Shagging I could use. Also, I can say boobs and he doesn't mind but beware of tits.

Keeping plates spinning is tiring. Making a choice you can't easily go back on removes the stress and, as you say, the internal struggle and fight.

I treat the belt as a part of me. So in any meaningful sense, I am controlling myself, by choosing to wear it. 😄

I'm not so sure that change has to be this thing that always comes from within. We are allowed external help! For example, a friend of mine quit smoking, not because he was mentally ready to but because he'd been in hospital. The week or two where he couldn't smoke, gave him a really useful head start.

I do. When I was younger I was a swimmer but here in the Northeast US you are always inside. Running you get outside most every day, not in the dead of winter, and I love getting out especially mornings in summer.

It's about self-discipline, self-respect, getting really in touch with your body and what it needs rather than what it wants and striving to do what's right with the gifts God gave you. And feeling a little bit special. Looking at myself in the mirror naked and knowing I'm not giving it away.
