There was a time when I just got used to the belt so I sometimes got to forget about it (hectic day, lots of stress, or just a lot happening) and my friends wanted to go swimming. I noticed I screwed up when I was changing into the swimming suit... I already had a one-piece but the belt gave a very noticeable outline and poked a bit down there on the sides of the swimsuit... Some questions followed, I was very embarrassed but my keyholder shrugged it off as a medical appliance (posture, medical, bone stuff) and insisted for the topic to be dropped. I still had been questioned later, and I told two of the friends.
Also, there was a situation with Mark, my boyfriend who also wears a belt. Our friend was messing with me and she was joking that she might take Mark away from me, she jokingly flirted with him in a bit aggressive way and she grabbed him by the package, which left her shocked 😛
