Led Zepplin, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osborne, Judas Priest, AC/DC and so on. Everything that's said to contain satanical messages, because I like the music and also because it triggers my parents. Also Grunge of any kind, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam. Sometimes a little Pop-Punk like blink-182, Green Day, Billy Talent and stuff like that. So mainly rock music of any kind.

Then I hope you will soon experience resurrection
Philip 20min of them before my wife got crowded and started freaking out.
that's exactly why i choose the peopl with whom i go to concerts according to what their taste in music is.
wow, you listen to almost the same music as me, i think i would go to concerts with you
However, of the bands you mentioned, I have only seen Billy Talent and Green Day live so far.
Sin OMG you're so bogan! This I did not expect!!
i have many character traits. My rock/metal/punk/goth music preference is one of them
PS: I had to google the word first. Found it under "29 ways Australians insult".
Cool, maybe I'll see you at a concert, I'm the one with the chastity belt haha

The world's first conservative goth punk!

"Bogan" is not an insult, it's a cultural icon! I think the German equivalent would be "Proll".... It's kind of like a redneck in America or a Chav in England. You can spot them in the wild doing burnouts in their V8s in a McDonalds carpark, or getting drunk at a strip club in Bali. AC/DC is the soundtrack of choice!
I'm a big fan of Nick Cave, and when I heard Red Right Hand today it seemed strangely relevant to this site.
Sin The world's first conservative goth punk!
well, that all punks and goths are left-wing is also a prejudice. i was at a goth meeting with friends the other day, and some of them also have conservative and liberal positions. I'm not really conservative either. PS: especially among goths, conservative values such as politeness are very widespread.
Sin I think the German equivalent would be "Proll"..
I know, but that's also kind of insulting (as I see it).
Angelina I know, but that's also kind of insulting (as I see it).
I'm not sure what a proll is, but Australians have a strange affection for "bogans". I guess it's due to our convict past, we are the scum of the earth after all.
It wasn't that many generations ago you could say to an Australian "Your dad is a bastard and your mum is a whore!" and the standard response would have been "Oh... Did you know them?"
Sin I wouldn't say punks and goths are necessarily left wing... just not conservative. Punk is by definition anti-establishment. And manners are not just the domain of right wing people. There are more than enough self-righteous assholes in that camp!
you always have to distinguish between real right-wingers and conservatives. i am also anti-establishment, but not left-wing. that is a difference to many punks, but this anti-attitude connects us.
and goths and punks are two different worlds again. so far i have only met one person who belongs to both scenes.
Sin I'm not sure what a proll is, but Australians have a strange affection for "bogans". I guess it's due to our convict past, we are the scum of the earth after all.
well, both have something to do with being uneducated and vulgar.
At the moment my two most listened artists are on a total different style. One is the group named Heilung and the other is Paul Shapera. Jumping from cyber/diesel/atompunk artist to north european ancient music and i love both.
...oh, and totally out of the blue, last tune i listened to was Lady In Black. Uriah Heep.
But that's the tip of the pointy part of the iceberg detached from my big arctic glacier.
Joh Sisters of Mercy is great but not Goth. 1983 it didn't exist.
and that's exactly why friends from the goth scene have seen the sisters at many goth festivals, well but we could have the same discussion about rock, pop, punk etc. it's a never ending discussion.
for me i classified it as goth rock
Joh Sisters of Mercy is great but not Goth. 1983 it didn't exist.
Huh? The 80s was peak goth... Sisters of Mercy are goth icons! I have siblings that used to listen to them (and stuff like The Mission etc) and I have to say it hasn't aged very well. So cheesy! The Cure were good though. For a pop band.
I used to get a massive moisty for The Jesus and Mary Chain... Still do actually. Saw them a couple of years ago would have thrown my underwear at them if it wasn't locked on at the time!
funny thing is that in a couple of weeks i'm going to two meetings in the weekend, friday night a goth meeting and saturday night a punk meeting, that will take a lot of time to change and style
