What you say about the street is true, but it is not the men's fault, it is the rapists' fault. Unfortunately as long as there are houses, there will be thieves, and as long as there are women there will be a criminal typology that is rape.
There, biology gave us bad cards and we have to accept it. We have to be careful and we can not fall into the discourse of "if we tell girls to be careful we are holding them responsible", I do not know in your country, but in mine you hear it a lot.
It would be the same as saying that when the summer season arrives and a police officer always goes on television to remember security rules to avoid robberies "by telling a homeowner to take precautions, the owner of the house is being held responsible of the robbery."

Ines If she was good at physic in school than it is her decission If she like it or Not. But the Point is was she able to get the Support and Knowledge in school to come to this decission?
The Report is about that. Mixed classes are a disadvantage for girls in these subjects.

I had chemistry and found it very interesting. In the next school, the teacher did everything he could to present it in a totally boring way. Although I still found it good, I was very often on the verge of falling asleep.
It depends on each individual's experience, but that doesn't make a general statement about whether girls are less suitable for it.

I know of no girl who has been looked at badly or put up barriers. To none.

And you know what? that there were small letters under the map... Do you know what it said? That in Spain the career of Medicine and career of Nursing had been discounted.
Why? because if they included them, it turned out that here 54% of those enrolled in science careers are girls...

I do not know why but they are very heavy on that topic, and the truth is that what they say I have not seen.

And yes, I have not seen it all, but neither do they, when they paint that painting, take into account that it is not my painting.

I think they want to make things more complicated than they are.

I have been saying that for years and getting blocked for it. Bad people are out there; you do not protect yourself by pretending they do not exist becaue they should not. And if you do get hurt, not being at fault for it is a minor consolation.

Sorry I dont get this - what are you saying here? That more women are in science or fewer? If you could share a link to that map it would be very interesting.

Ines it’s curious that the statistics for women in medicine isn’t counted. I’d find that very odd indeed, and would make me doubt the rest of the statistical map, unless it’s being very specific about what it calls “science”

Ines a quick search on the internet shows that at one university in England 45% of students studying physics were women. This might be unusual, but I doubt it. There were also a lot of female students from outside the UK. I’m not sure what it means (I’m not that bright ) in terms of overall numbers, but I suspect you’re extrapolating your own personal observations to the rest of the world.

As viewed from CS/EE perspective I used to think that there is a gender difference in that there are no average female engineers, all that I had known were either exceedingly good or exceedingly bad while playing the “I'm a woman in STEM” card. Well I probably was biased, because my first serious girlfriend was exactly the latter case, combined with physical handicap, which certainly did not help with sane approach to her self-esteem.

For last 3 years I'm in essentially managerial position (essentially a CTO) and I've found out that this really is not a gender difference. There simply isn't anyone who is average and most people in IT simply are ridiculously incompetent regardless of their gender.

6373e6b2 Technical disciplines tend to follow more of a camel curve than a bell curve as aptitude plays a huge role in learning progress even with good instructors. But rom my experience, the mid-range is usually still more underrepresented in females than in males.

I obviously can talk about my experience in my country, and I do not know of any girl with bad feedback if she chooses study a science degree.
Further, I will say that in my country most of teachers are female.
It so happens that the percentage of women who study physics and then dedicate themselves to teaching is much higher than that of men.
Again it is another bias.

I cannot speak of other realities that I do not know, but I can say what I have lived here

Joh If both are in the same lesson Girls are slower to respond to questions than boys regardless of whether they know for sure or not. So they hold back even though they often know better. This creates an imbalance that does not occur when they are taught separately.

hanna_anders its a proven effect. girls dont like to be seen doing "hard" subjects if they are with boys. Look it up.

in my opinion, however, this has less to do with the form of the school than with the quality. what you are describing is rather a bad school.
