Getting The Most From Your Adjustable Steel-Cable Belt
6373e6b2 the original padlock will rust enough to stop working in probably about a month just from sweat, no swimming or salt-water needed
Yes , I was warned. The three girls used the belt with new padlock without any problem, It is marine grade steel, the belts are in good conservation too, they had to clean them with fresh water.
Philip Is it comfortable?
Do you wear it 24/7?
Yes, CAN be quite comfortable, when everything is adjusted just so. And no, I don’t wear mine 24/7.
Rule #1 with these belts: if you’re putting the belt on or taking it off, don’t have your phone sitting there on the bed. Those metal O-rings at the ends of the steel cables could inflict some serious damage if you start whipping those cables around.
At a minimum, your phone should be in a protective case and turned face-down.
audioguy58 that is good that it is comfortable. Is there any reason that you don't wear it 24/7?
I bought some of this food-grade neoprene tubing on eBay many months ago. It appears to be an exact match for the original.

I would highly recommend having a supply of this on hand, so that you can cut the tubing to fit without having to worry excessively that you’re cutting it too short.
I made three prior attempts to buy tubing on eBay, searching for “plastic” rather than “neoprene”. Nono of these attempts was very successful.
I also tried to obtain tubing from the folks who sold me the belt. They would only sell it to me precut, not in bulk form, and the price they were asking was comparable to the price of a new belt.
I should say in their defense that when I first purchased my belt on eBay, the package apparently did not contain the little Allen wrench which allows you to make adjustments. They were very helpful in sending me the tool and two replacement screws, which are always included with the wrench.
The belt has three cable clamps, which I’m going to refer to as A, B, and C.
A: Front of waist belt
B: Top (front) of cup
C: The “T”-shaped piece at the rear of the waist belt
Angelina it shouldn't really be necessary with brand belts, but my father prepared the padlock with oil in the summer.
Even brand manufacturers do not make their own locks but buy from some brands like Burgwächter, ABUS, etc.
Unless these locks are specifically designed for marine environments (speak: salt water), they are not 100% rust proof. And most locks are actually not made to that standard.

You probably have a valid point there, but I’ve owned my belt for three years now, and I have absolutely no quarrel with their choice of lock.
I give it a shot of WD-40 once in a great while, and I’ve seen not the slightest evidence of rust.

I created this topic so that we would have a place to discuss the purely mechanical issues related to this type of belt, specifically the question of getting the best possible fit. This isn’t about me or my personal lifestyle choices.
For what it’s worth, I consider the suppression, or attempted suppression, of the male’s nocturnal erections, to be a really dumb idea. I can’t imagine any reputable medical doctor saying that that’s OK. It was mentioned elsewhere, in connection to the Kali’s Teeth Bracelet, that nocturnal erections will eventually cease if you wear a KTB 24/7, but how could anyone consider that a good thing?

Although it would be kind of cool if the original belt maker, or someone else, could offer an upgrade to the “vending machine” (Chicago Ace) type of lock used by Tollyboy et al.

Just as the female body has certain gender-specific needs with regard to chastity, so too does the male body.

Anyone who has studied calculus will understand what I’m talking about here.
… to be continued.
I noticed that the silicone tubing that ships with the Chinese knockoffs is a lot thinner than the high grade silicone tubing. Combined with the fact that the cables are much thinner than my FS cables, it does lead to some uncomfortable pressure on sensitive areas in the rear.
If you are going to use a Chinese cable belt for long term wear, I'd probably recommend making sure the tubing has at least a 2 mm wall thickness.
Since this is the one I use too, here some comments
The quality surprised me, it's very good. Very secure too, I'm impressed. It must be very tight on the body of course, but definitively works
I have made a lot of changes:
- The lock must be changed, agree... it's really flimsy
- I changed the cover of the cable with tubes made from medical silicone. It's not bad, but this way is much more comfortable and larger, so less pressure
- I covered some metal parts with electrical tape. Not the best solution, but a good one. I change it every week
Another thing is that I retake the measures 11 times!
Overall it's fit for its purpose, which is preventing wandering fingers and keeping her inside it. On the other side, I have some doubts about using a rigid belt, the cable one seems much better on comfort side, but I have no experience with other belts, it's just an idea.
