I actually made it to the end of the game (11:30PM our time). Got ready for bed at halftime and snoozed some on the couch in the second half. It was a good game. The offense was vaguely reminiscent of the Brady years, moving the ball fairly well. I don't bet. I lost track of where legality is in MA. I think they approved it but are arguing about details. You can always do it in NH but you must be physically in NH which is fairly easy from where we live.

      Avery You are wise to not bet money on a game even if it is fully legal. If a friend of mine is for the other team than the one I am rooting for, I enjoy making an activity type of bet. That is fun, basically harmless but a little panicky at times.

      The Chiefs play Sunday and I will be looking to have something going if one of my friends is rooting for the Rams. The Pats play the Bills next Thursday and I would not bet on them for that game.

          Hope springs eternal in New England. People thought we might beat the 8-2 (going into last night) Vikings because they had been outscored by their opponents even though they were 8-2. Now they are 9-2 and still have only 5 points more than the opponents. We have beaten the Jets twice and the Jets (improbably, perhaps) beat Buffalo so now people figure we can beat Buffalo too. Doubt it.

          Chiefs game should be good.

          I might buy these cuff bracelets. Could come in handy some time.

              I cannot get a bet on the Chiefs game. Of course I want to bet on the Chiefs and so does everyone else. My usual bet friends are laying low. They do not want to chance the embarassing result..

                        From what I've read American football was a derivation of rugby which was often called rugby football and so American football was called gridiron football to distinguish from the rugby game and at some point people dropped the word gridiron.

                        I am fond of rugby players as the second time I was assaulted there was a rugby game in progress nearby which I ran to. Rugby is a club sport at my school, not a full division 1 program but people can now get some scholarship aid to play. Both men's and women's teams.

                            Avery I don't think I can get a fun bet on the Chiefs. They are favored to win by 15.5 points and I am not comfortable giving someone that kind of a lead. Could leave me in a bit of trouble. LOL! But please cheer for the Chiefs Sunday anyway.

                                I just looked at the Rams' Record. 3-7. Had no idea, I never look at the NFC. And they are defending champions? What on earth happened?

                                      I watched a lot of the seven on sevens in the Olympics for both men and women. Very enjoyable considering I'd never watched a match thru before that. Fiji teams were great,

                                                  Avery Yes! They won by 16 points (more than the projected 15.5) so I am free. Unfortunately my friend will be tracked for a week (unless I get benevolent). She was a good sport about it.

                                                      Sam, thanks. May not make it to the end of the game because of the hour but will record it. Hope springs eternal here. Many folks believe, with some good reason, that Belichick can scheme up a way to win. They did win a bad weather game in Buffalo last year 14-10 by slowing things down and attacking the quarterback (and making no dumb mistakes, a problem this year). This is the same strategy teams used to use against us when Brady was here. We'll see.
