I have to ask, has anyone made it clear to Jane that she could refuse all of this? Dose she know that her mother can't (legally) force her?
Since we are only seeing part of the story (and second hand at that) it can be difficult to tell, but it doesn't sound like she is being offered a choice in this and that is a very bad thing both in terms of morality and in the likely outcome.

Well you certainly have self-discipline getting into and staying in medical school, plus training for sports.

I've come to believe an important difference between your situation and mine is that you have a steady boyfriend and I do not. I'm certain I would not be able to resist giving in to a "steady", to use an old-fashioned term. In fact my plan is really not to try, once I think I have the right person.

Some people, in their desire to be heroes, create their own villains. The question is, who is the hero and who is the villain in this case. Is it a hero fighting for order and a villain for debauchery? Or a hero fighting for consent and a villain for oppression?

Personally, I am guessing the latter is the more likely example, and the belt dealer is your evil alter ego, locking people into chastity against their will so that hero-you can break them free again.

I think exactly the same. Nothing good will come of it. Either Monica spends the money for no reason or she forces her daughter to wear a belt.

The belt is arriving tomorrow, Jane has told me that. She said they are "going to take it slow", whatever that means. Jane is nervous, I know I was for sure and I think that is normal. AJ has talked a lot with Monica, at least a few times anyway to tell her to chill. We will see what happens. I told her to call me tomorrow night for an update.

I do agree with this, at least at the beginning, but now there is dialogue now so Jane doesn't feel quite so trapped. I know she is nervous about trying it. You are right about AJ, she was tough at first but she chilled later on and ultimately got what she wanted. I hope Monica does the same thing, but the circumstances and the urgency are way different.
