Alex2000 I had a Carrara belt donkey's years ago. I didn't wear it long term, just on occasions.
The security was "ok". It was probably safer in that it had more foam padding, but I got the feeling that if this were removed the belt would be a lot less secure. It was a bit too complicated I think. My Neosteel Arch seems to have gone through repeated simplifications which have really honed it into the highly effective chunk of metal that it is. It's not as hinged and flexible as the Carrara but it tucks out of the way.
Hygiene in the Carrara was fine, the tube inner wall was coated and this was indeed easier to clean.
In summary, my Carrara was well designed and made, but I'd stick with my Neosteel for sports... I can even run wearing it.
