Can't imagine why a young adult would want to spend time with someone their age that shows them love, rather than an abusive parent who harbours weird incestuous bondage fantasies. But in the interests of playing along, I would remind you that there are many reasons why a person would have impulse control issues, including physical requirements. Likewise people seek and experience stimulation in different ways. It is not up to you to decide what is best for another adult individual in the bedroom.
Her failing studies would be a seperate issue. One would presume that a dysfunctional home life would be a contributing factor, as would inappropriate interpersonal relationships.
Conventional methods of dealing with this would be perhaps a tutor, or a change of course, or dropping a couple of units, or studying part time. You know, like normal people.
