Secondary shield
Oh,ok.As I said I have difficulties to imagine what emergencies could be done by taking the shield off but not the belt(even more as the belt is less "secure" with it off...But it depends the purpose of the belt).
Ines there are a lot of times in which I am not released of my belt for every shower I take.
Same for me,most of the showers,I still have my belt on.But when it is supervised,it is totally off,I've never had a shower with belt on,without the secondary shield.I guess it is better to wash with it off, sure.
if you always wear the secondary shield and never can open, why did your father bought a CB having secondary shield instead of a welded plate? A useless lock more, more weight, useless. and also more expensive maybe.

strictfather You have mixed 4 different approaches.
- No secondary shield at all. See Renita
- Permanent secondary shield without lock. My case.
- Secondary shield on the main lock. Can be attached and detached by parents when necessary.
- Secondary shield on a separate lock. Can be attached and detached by girl if she has that key, but belt remains locked.
I think best approach is the 4, more better for the girl and the holders.
ines, what's scope to unlock secondary shield? maybe is better 2. cheaper and less space and weight.

To have a shower belted, but with a much better cleanness. Even cleanness of the secondary shield which is usually tight against our lips, and always is a little messy.
And I am little obsessive with the cleanness.
? i thought you always had a shower without belt....

No, not ever. Thankfully I am released a lot of times, and in scholar year I have shower unbelted after my training almost everyday.
But specially in weekends that I am belted until Monday or in summer, I do not ask for release every shower I take.
But even belted particular good cleaning of shield is mandatory.
Answer 4.
Laura Secondary shield on a separate lock. Can be attached and detached by girl if she has that key, but belt remains locked.
Except I never get the key.And as @Ines said,it is better to clean myself while belted.
Laura Same for me. If I asked to take the belt off for every shower, it would be suspicious and most likely I would be refused.
Same.More supervised ones is ok when I've my period or when it is very hot,but not every shower.
Laura Any particular reason for this extra lock?
Not sure.Probably they think it was better to be able to take it off, even if it was not used.As we often say about computers "which can do the most can do the less"("qui peut le plus peut le moins",in french;not totally true however,I know a couple softwares which not work well if used on actual computers);in this case, better to have the lock and never use it,instead of not having one and wanting to use it...

Vanessa Probably they think it was better to be able to take it off, even if it was not used.
You are able to take it off even with single lock. The only difference you can unlock the secondary shield without unlocking the belt. But I can't imagine possible usage in your case.
Vanessa in this case, better to have the lock and never use it
But a second lock makes the whole thing more bulky.
Angelina We are not talking about my belt where secondary shield can't be detached at all. Such design is ancient and not used anymore.
But I'm talking about short shield vs. long. Should shield is locked by a separate lock, but long shield is located on the same position but continues to the waistband and locked together with main shield by the same lock. No difference for disassembling if both locks are open.
