My parents think it is sinful, harmful, reduces school and sport performance, causes laziness and behaviour problems. The topic of sleeping with girls has never even come up, and I was only 13 when it went on anyway.

Yes, we are talking about two very different things.
The ones I'm talking about are not toys but real, safe cbs that can be worn for a long time, but the manufacturer doesn't seem to exist anymore. I didn't find anything else in my quick internet search except one man's experience report.

Of all plastic full belts I have seen, the design most suitable for long-term wear was probably by Reinholds. A briefs-shaped device much like Latowski's steel belts, but made of fiberglass composite. Have not been made in over a decade, as far as I recall.

Sara2001 Metal detectors at airports only detect items larger than a certain size, or clothing with metal buttons or zippers would trigger the alarm. So your chances of an awkward encounter would still be lowrr than with a full-steel belt.
