Honestly I think the story is one of lazy manufacturing. A long time ago the cb was a very simple piece of sheet metal and honestly looks super uncomfortable. Of course every human being is different and every human being has complicated geometry. It is not a good idea to block ventilation and it is not a good idea to press into the body with sharp edges. The shield is truly in my opinion a safety device and not restricting. If you move around in the front you could get way worse than pinching just think about a body and sheet metal I mean pretty good common sense?!

Get a secondary sheild belt that's what @Megan is saying, it's better for ventilation and hygiene and comfort. And if you are concerned about oral sex but want your daughter to be able to masturbate (and if she can't she will complain more) you can let her out for a short time provided she does not see any boys or friends. Or just expect that she will masturbate in the shower when you let her out for hygiene breaks (and this is nesacary every so often, talk with your daughter about it depends on the wearer).
