Sin The next 12 hours was like OMG WTF and the last hour and a half was thoroughly traumatic for everyone! Not gonna lie it was way, way worse than we ever imagined. All I can say is wear your chastity belts girls!

Megan I don't want to put you off, everyone is different. My pregancy has been perfect, not one day of morning sickness, I've been hitting the gym three times a week, I've been doing yoga up until I went into labour... So I totally thought "I've got this!"
How wrong I was! My advice: Don't try to be a hero. Get an epidural!
Sin but honestly I don't know why people would choose to go through that whole process multiple times. It's crazy!! Once is enough for us. I am DONE with giving birth!

no, seriously. i have heard from many that every birth is different, your pregnancy was perfect, but the birth was probably of the heavier variety. a friend's mother had 4 children and the labour was between 2 and 50 hours, so it can be more pleasant next time.

Joh He was fantastic, but it was pretty traumatic for him too. I was very thankful he was there! I was passing out and unconscious between contractions. He basically descibed it as watching my life slowly ebb away each time. Pretty scary to think if it wasn't for modern medicine it would have dragged on for a few more days and I would have died of some horrible condition like sepsis or gangrene. Childbirth was the biggest killer of women until very recently, and still is in a lot of places.
Sin No more next time! I would cut my own womb out with a rusty butter knife before I go through that again!

my greatest respect for you and your husband, i understand that you are rather averse to future pregnancies, but i would not relate this one to the future. something can always happen, but according this logic women shouldn't have children anymore. anyway, i'm glad you got through it and hopefully will be with your daughter (and us) for a long time to come

I meant us personally, neither of us want a whole tribe of little snot muppets running around! Having children is a HUGE decision and far too many people start having multiple kids with no real consideration as to how they will pay for food, housing, clothing, school etc etc. I couldn't imagine breeding in my 20s, it would have been completely irresponsible relying on others for our child's welfare.
