Sara2001 I am sure the risks of the pill are almost nothing.
I am 100% in favor of reproductive health and comprehensive sex educated but I agree with Ines that the pill has real risks associated with it that we kind of pretend don't exist. I started on the pill when I was 18 and started getting server migraines that doctors told me were likely due to the hormones in the pill. I still get them to this day. Right before I turned 18 I got my first blood clot. Again, linked directly to the pill. That's when I was taken off of it. I cannot use any kind of hormon birth control because of my history. That's antidotel but lots of women have pretty unpleasant side effects from the pill ranging from weight gain to depression to blood clots. I'm not saying don't use it. I'm saying it's not magic and you need to know the risk involved.
