of course the belt as such is not a real solution, but i think there is an advantage. no attacker expects a chastity belt, this 2 to 3 seconds of confusion can be enough to use further measures like running away, screaming or pepper spray.

Really absolute majority of sexual crimes are between people who know each other (like partners) or on parties (drunk, ...) etc. And some less hard crimes (harassment) between friends, at work, ...
