Megan Mini Mike certainly would. But then he has way more money to burn than me.
Parental approval and arranged marriage
HHelen How about my daughter?
How about me?
Laura In $$$? Let's say at least 6 digits
That makes some sense if you are going to live in NYC. Would that be like other hackers like you, doctors, lawyers. You went to MIT with family so you must have spent time in the same places as crazy wealthy people too.
I finally received help from my parents to get moving in love although really the husband being so cool was the most helpful part.
Do your parents often socialize with you at parties or anything like that?
Finding a husband was never a priority for me either as trying to plan that feels so fake but the parents introduced us and we sort of re-found each other.
Laura Not in NYC, that's not big money really
Well in the country where I live I can only think of a couple of jobs that make those kinds of salaries. You also have the stock market and crypto people out in NYC. I imagine you have a lot of other things that bring in that kind of $ probably way to many for me to think of.
After I paid off my car and got health insurance I probably only spent $35,000 ish on myself the whole year. Maybe I am rounding down on food because my husband of course does a lot of the grocery runs especially recently when he gets off of work before I do.
But before you feel to sorry for me I live comfortably with the prices of things where I am. There are almost no expenses besides some subscriptions for entertainment or clothes and where I am you don't need Versace to look fashionable

Maybe I'm taking you too literally, but in order to spend $35,000 you would, in the US, have to make $51,000 or so. Figure 21% Federal tax, 6% social security (if it's earned income) and 5% state tax (in MA). So $51,000 - about $16,000 tax leaves you about $35,000 to spend. Plus you had to make more to pay of the car and health insurance, very expensive. So I'd say you had to make close to $60,000. Assuming your husband also works you're doing fine, as you say.
