In your view, when does such responsibility end? Should parents have belting authority over a 30-year-old?

                    It depends on a situation. Age doesn't matter too much.

                        a_father They just make it unnecessarily difficult for her to find a partner. I don't know the reasons, but that has something to do with the fact that you can't let go of your daughter or treat her like your property.

                              HHelen Aside from the obvious circumstance of marriage, what are the situations in which a parent’s belting authority ends, in your view? I don’t get the impression that Laura, for instance, relies on her parents for financial support, yet at her age she remains locked by her parents and my guess is that the only real reason she accepts the belt is in order to please them. (Which is admittedly a powerful motivator, but I don’t think they have any moral standing to demand she remain belted.)

                                                        one doesn't really work without the other. the belt is the reason for this. to see the belt as a separate shame is very difficult (just my opinion)
