Saintprudence Honestly, with how feminist post-secondary schools tend to be (unless it is a catholic institute or something), I could only imagine chastity belts being offered to women on a voluntary basis, if at all. Maybe male chastity has a better chance, as an admission requirement for certain courses of study or as a mandatory part of some class.

Maybe in some places it might also be required that women with penises put the offending item out of commission before being granted access to safe spaces, but outside of Britain, where TERF ideology has way too much traction, I can only see that happening in response to an incident

Something weird is that some countries people generally view as conservative countries, like Japan, looks more liberal than some part of America. I don’t see many Asian people here, being belted by their parents while many think Asian parents are more strict than Western counterparts and I saw many American here. Maybe the thing called chastity belt is not really commonly known even as a myth in Asian countries (I never heard of any myths about chastity belt back in my home country at all) or maybe because many Asian countries aren’t dominated by extreme christians as America does (For example Japan only have like 2-4 percent Christians, not vocal as American either. Majority are buddhists / or into Shinto, which don’t really touch average people’s personal life as much as christianity does.)

I attended an institute that belonged to the Catholic Church but it wasn't radical at all, and in fact I already told you here that the teachers turned a blind eye to the "arrangements" that the girls made with the length of the skirt if we were not too exaggerated.
A middle-aged teacher who had been a student there told us that in her time, in the 1980s, they did it too. I remember this so you can see that I was not in a convent.

When I went to college I was shocked by the behavior of some girls. I do not live in a cave away from the world, but there were behaviors that were degrading.

With chastity belts for girls on campus that would not happen.

What actually probably would work is an opt-in situation. Kind of like how homeowners associations in the USA have great power to control individual homes, because everyone signed a contract that said they accepted these rules. A planned community where everyone coming into the community knows and accepts the rules could be workable.

Of course, that would require getting hundreds of belt-wearers and keyholders to live in the same place, and that’s probably the least realistic part of all!

Lol that is nearly the most likely one. What I've heard of those HOAs in America are crazy. Setup a community where all single women are expected to be belted. It's only couples and families at first, but then someone's kid turns 18 and there's a problem. Sure you can't force someone to wear a belt - but you better belt up or move out or we'll take your parents house.

Given that HOAs in America are run by intensely conservative and conformist people who will literally kick someone out of their home over a treehouse, this is alarmingly plausible!

New plan: everyone pitch in $50,000, and Goody and I will establish Chastity Colony One on some nice unsettled part of America! One-belt minimum per household required and keyholders need to be vetted, haha.

Addendum: A serious community chastity law would have to address gender in some way; there are those who believe chastity is for women only and I can sympathize with that position, but it’s not exactly workable. I would propose that such a law have the following parameters for all residents of Chastity Colony Alpha:

unmarried adults are subject to the belt at the behest of their authority figures, in the hierarchy determined elsewhere.
Anyone living alone must be under authority.
In married couples, any gender arrangement is acceptable. However, one member of the marriage must be designated the authority and the other under their charge. There does not have to be a belted person in the house, but there must be the knowledge that one half of the couple is subject to belting at any time.
Social pressure would, of course, make it likely that belting authority is almost always used in marriages. Unbelted couple would be considered “weird” or “un-mutual” by their peers. There’s a part of me that wonders if further controls should be exercises on the charges, such as needing spousal approval for major purchases, but this is about chastity belting, not creating a new underclass (which the belt law will do sufficiently well enough on its own.)

i agree, but of course there must be a concrete reason for the belt. no judge should be allowed to order/permit it just because of the fear of the parents. there must be reasons otherwise every girl wears a belt even if she is a good girl.

I have only formulated the suggestion for women because it is most accepted here on the forum that girls/women wear a belt. but you can also apply the law to boys, transsexuals or other gender identities. just as well, anyone can be a keyholder. 🙂

i would say she would almost be the perfect example for my idea. not only has she behaved wrongly, but she also does not want to change her behaviour. in this case, i would say that the judge should agree to the parents' request.

currently it can be a reason for divorce, at least in germany. i considered it more as a reason for the belt here, of course. maybe it would also make wives (or husbands) think and there would be fewer divorces.
For example: Camryn and I were married and she would not perform her marital duties, then I would petition the court to have her wear a belt until she performs her duties again, the court can agree or deny.

I admit I haven't read the thread yet because I've been online here for far too long and won't do it until tomorrow (or tonight), I think cases of masturbation can also play a role, for example when the daughter skips school to masturbating at home or something

On a theoretical level, my summary opinion, and taking into account that this is more fiction than real possibility:

Belt use for single women between 15 and 65. Obviously trans and lesbian women.
Trans and lesbian relationships must identify the head of household.
Sanctions for non-compliance should be aimed at social progress, for example owning a business or higher education.
Medical exam every six months, or weekly in educational centers, for single women.
Probably, although not mandatory, the norm would de facto oblige married women since not all husbands would accept that their wives were the available option. Certain places such as universities, schools, bars would imply mandatory use also for married women.
Keyholding hierarchy would be: father and husband/ legal guardian, older brother, younger brother, grandfather, uncle, friend with judicial authorization, mother.
The system of use and accessories depend on the keyholder, although the woman has the option to appeal if she believes there is abuse. Quick trial in 24 hours. Loss of keyholding liability.
Women undergoing separation and divorced, mandatory. Minimum one year of separation before you can get divorced.

Are you certain "younger brother" should be on that list??? I don't have a younger brother and I don't thing there are any younger brothers in my extended families but I have seen some in other families and I just don't know if that would work well...

i think a younger brother can also be a keyholder, but he as well as an older brother or friend/uncle should not stand in front of the mother.

Well, it is a good idea, but I was making a projection, and, although I do not consider myself a feminist, I do think that a society with this law would be very patriarchal.
That is why I included, with a low level, the authority of a younger brother.

I think that’s ok, but there would have to be a minimum age for the younger sibling to be responsible for the key holding.
