I think it's fine that there are keyholders who truly want to lock someone up pretty much forever.
It is even fine if someone is aware of that and willingly agrees to it.
However, I think it is absolutly irresponsible to not unlock someone after end a relationship. This is a perfect example of how I wish my keyholder not to be... Even if my first keyholder could have enjoyed keeping me locked 24/7, I am sure she would never have left me without unlocking me.
The reason why I am answering right now is that I've just had the idea if this would be ok if the old keyholder would have found a new keyholder beforehand and would hand over the keys to the new keyholder immedatly after you end the relationship but for me that would be too extreme as well because I might not be ok with the new keyholder.

      When you hear about acrimonious break ups it's not beyond the boundaries of possibility that this could happen. If the belt is just physically locked, of course it could be removed, but if it were being checked by a third party, it is possible that a person could find themselves belted indefinitely. Yikes!
