i have many experiences, all of them not very pleasant about thighbands, but it is best to talk to your boyfriend first if you feel uncomfortable with them.

you made your own thighbands? interesting. your experiences seem very similar to what real thighbands do, have you ever thought about ordering real ones? Of course just to keep up your desire for the belt. 
Maija Since my father knows very many contacts in the metal fabrication industry, he will have someone make a block piece compatible with my bands. Then, they can lock it on me should I require it (it will not be used at school)
I don't know what a block piece is but it sounds like you don't want one and shouldn't have one.
Tenn__Man Thank you for your experience! While wearing thigh bands, what's your max step size toe to toe? And how tall are you? I've been trying to determine whether there's a humane/reasonable degree of restriction that's sustainable.
Tenn__Man replying here - and more comments above. Wasn't real bands. Step size was smaller but not really a problem - like after an hour I was starting to get used to it. Trying to take bigger steps felt bad for my knees, but letting the bands pull tight each step was ok. I got surprised stepping back when opening the fridge - actually any kind of turning or twisting was awkward - like walking around things had to be like following a path around them not just moving naturally.
Going up steps was more pressure on knees and ankles. You can't get your balance right - like your weight is not properly above the leg you're stepping up with.
I'm completely convinced it would stuff up my joints or muscles if worn lots - like overnight could be ok - didn't feel bad on back or side. But not for daytime.

It is a bolt that serves to keep the thighbands attached. Since my aunt didn't trust much of InΓ©s's new belt, they ordered one, which she barely used.
When I got my belt my parents decided to buy one too.
It is only used to sleep, but it sucks.

if you could get used to it after an hour i can only say congratulations, i don't think it works so well with real bands, but hey i am excited about the effort you put in

Walking was easiest to get used to - like if your ankle is just a little sore you'll change how walk and not think about it so much after a while.
I think long term - probably cramps and stuff will be the issue and take a long time to get used to.
I trust what my cousin who studies medicine has written here, what another user who was a retired doctor and another who was a masseur also wrote, and yes, undoubtedly inappropriate and excessive use is harmful to health.
I think it's dangerous to spread the word that it has no consequences when three authoritative voices have told us otherwise.

That is an important caveat. Wearing the bands regularly is one thing, never getting anybreaks were legs can be stretched is another thing entirely
Sorry that i have come across as such. You and all the medical professionals (@Ines and @Foxies) are most certainly right: without exercise breaks thighbands are definitely harmful.
However, almost anything "bad" isn't a big deal if done in moderation and with appropriate precautions (think of junk food, for example)

i haven't had any problems yet either, but i wouldn't presume to speak for everyone.
i agree with you that it can be harmful to wear the thighbands permenently without sufficient movement breaks, however, it does not have to be harmful. i do believe medical experts, but medical experts also consider many other things to be harmful, which are mostly not harmful if enjoyed in moderation.
Jen Perhaps the more comfortable you feel the more you wear 'em in the long run.
sun I used to have one, sorta. She was half white, Christian, and American. Back in 2019, I was just like her except for the half white part. But since the beginning of the pandemic, I've gone on a journey rediscovering my identity and self. As a result, I don't think I can marry an American Christian anymore. The unfortunate thing is, I think it's harder to find a Chinese girl who wants a traditional marriage than a Christian girl who wants the same nowadays. Doesn't help that there aren't that many Asians where I live. Mainland China's become a very different place than it was decades ago, and I haven't been back in years.
Where exactly in Northern China are you from? I've read through the story of you and your wife thoroughly, and felt like your strategy was kinda risky. But I guess if she's ι‘Ίδ» then it might make sense.
