Avery My daughter took on the responsibility of watering the neighbors plants while they wer e on vacation. When they came home their house had been robbed and their Porsch stolen. On questioning by the police, my daughter admitted she let her boyfriend in the house and went with him in the Porsch. In fact she threw some of the ladies jewelery out of the window as they drove. I did not know whe had even left my house. She took the screen off a bedroom window and crawled out there. I found that later.
The lawyer said since she was a "step" daughter, I had no liability in the matter. I did ask how I could prevent such a thing. Could I chain here in her room? (Just asking) He was pretty vague but that under the circumstances I probably could. I think if there is concern about "risky behavior" that a parent could take some pretty strong measures to stop it.
