however, i notice again and again that it is also abused politically. when i talk to young women about my political role models, i am often looked at askance. the reason: almost all of them are old white men.
I want equal opportunities for all, but not equal results.

It is already how polarized society is for you to put that poison in the forum.
Here you can discuss almost anything, as seen in the thread about the verdict of the US Supreme Court, but you can not come up with "the left does" or "the right does".
It is a highway to blow up the atmosphere of the forum.

gwen That's a pretty rude thing to say. Even if you can't understand it, people really do struggle with gender and sexual identity. Pulling up this tired meme is so dismissive to their struggles -- struggles you probably don't have to deal with.

That is very offensive for trans people. Like what @Maija said I feel disgusted every time I see someone enjoy making these kind of unfunny, offensive "jokes". It's kind of "jokes" that TERFs also make, and it is the most disrespectful thing a person can do to trans people.

you can complain that something or other is done, but it will not allow itself to say that the left is bad or the right does such a thing.
We are not interested in generalist political debates that only irritate and do not contribute anything. Both people on the right and on the left are usually good and seek the best for their countries.
As you can see there are threads that deal with specific things and there you can defend the position you want, and it will not be censored as long as it is done with educational standards.
But "general causes" right vs left, no.
If you want you can open new threads and discuss other topics.

There are many homosexuals now. A lot of the girls in my store have dated other woman or something and they don't look any sort of odd way they are pretty. It could be a bit odd but they really aren't going to do anything to us.
I am kind of surprised all the gay people wind up on the left and the right doesn't have any open pro gay anything.

That's my perception too. In Aus there are plenty of inner city gay professionals, yuppies etc who are economically conservative small business operators... The US is stuck in a cultural war where everything is framed as left vs right, us vs them, you vs me, God vs Satan, "with us or against us". It's not healthy. There's no reasoning or tolerance.
Our previous government spent 20 years trying to ignite the same thing here, but luckily they were deposed recently.

Honestly USA now is so much uncoordinated. The country right in north of USA is better in this aspect, though.

Honestly it's a huge stereotype many homophobic people use as a way to justify their hate.
Pride Parade is more about visibility, and in many Pride Parades around the world it is happening.
My pov? I just view it as some part of their expression for special occasion. It's nothing different with some festivals that participants get half naked there. I myself don't generally like too much exposure, but do they really cause direct harm to me? No. So I'm okay with such occasion.
It is completely understandable that there are few openly gay members of right-wing parties when that party is aggressively homophobic and regularly gives people who want to criminalize a sexual orientation, defend abusive "conversion therapies" or legalize straight-up lynching a platform. When the most homophobic policy of a right-wing party is that gay couples should not be able to enter the same sort of marriage as straight couples, those parties probably seem a lot more palatable than US Republicans. It is easier to find common ground with someone who wants to deny you benefits than with someone who wants to deny you your existence.

Personally, I am in favor for far fewer hangups about nudity. It is simply a matter of living and letting live; if there is something you do not want to see, it is your own responsibility to endure it or look away. And little children are probably the least likely to be driven to inappropriate thoughts at the sight of a naked person.
