With this view, one could certainly justify the following action. If my child meets other children and is with them, he or she could be influenced in some way that I don't like. Just to be on the safe side, I don't let my child be with other children. I keep it only in our house/flat.

that's a point i've also thought about with my father, but haven't come to a conclusion. there are areas where he gives me a lot of freedom and areas where he restricts me a lot. i think he sometimes projects his own bad experiences in life onto me and areas where he himself was also successful, he gives me a lot of freedom there.
