My objection to the mittens is that they were imposed as a punishment (keyholder's impetus plus power dynamic casts doubt on consent) and that they were probably taken straight from a sex toy collection.
I am also not a fan of things like thigh bands, which to me seem like they have a significant mobility impact for a relatively limited performance improvement in their stated purpose.
