There seems to be an influx of people who claim to have a BDSM relationship with their parents lately. And it is a common trope in erotic fantasies: Parents found out about the chastity device and take possession of the key. Usually a boy, since with penis cages it is usually easier to get one that is suitable for multi-day wear in secret, but not always.

Personally, I think there is little harm in extending the benefit of doubt to everyone, since they might actually be stuck in a situation where they need help. But also, with roleplayers, they either get bored or the stories get spicier and spicier, and calling them out usually helps that the former takes place. And finally, we do not want real-life wearers to take advice from people who claim to be in the same situation, but have never experienced it except in their fantasies, while stroking their... egos.

Ines I am sorry that you feel attacked. I considered my comment as a general contribution and did not have you personally in mind. I apologise again for referring to your fish fakts.
You are doing a good and balanced job as a moderator and I did not mean to criticise you in any way.

      Joh

I overreacted too, Joh, 40 degrees here. Sorry.

        youdontknowme

For me, a wake-up call is the occurrence of the following events in history:
        1) the author declares that he (she) is a minor,
        2) is forced against his will to wear a belt by his parents or guardians but does not take real action to free himself,
        3) wearing a chastity belt is a punishment or consequence of some misbehavior (sexual or not) or to correct its effects or to improve academic performance,
        4) the user tries to artificially maintain his topic, presenting "updates" of his story on an ongoing basis, sometimes even adapting it to the "expectations" and suggestions of other users,
        5) most willingly focuses on his own violent experiences (because they give him the greatest pleasure),
        6) regardless of the topic, he is mainly limited to reporting his experiences, he is unable to present more general conclusions,
        7) there are extremely improbable themes in his story,
        8) he falls into contradictions in his relations.

The more of the above points appear in the user's activity, the greater the probability that it is a person who only presents his fantasies, not real experiences.

And one more thing. Based on my own experience of working with young people, I sincerely doubt that a minor who has been abused actually seeks help on this forum. It is too "specialized" and at the same time it can be perceived as an erotic forum.

Finally, a caveat. Even a court with extensive evidence can make mistakes. All the more, a mistake may occur when assessing on the basis of reports published on the forum. However, this does not release either moderators or users from a sober assessment of the published content.

it can be a tough crowd, just be patient and share pertanant information. New people keep the forum alive

Ines Thats OK. With your responcibility and this many posting is it demanding. And 40 degree is really not helping.

Renita Yes, we do also have a surprising number of females in same sex relationships under lock, and the number of underage beltings reported here should actually alarm child services around the globe (although I do have my theory on that, but it's only a theory), but the problems are:

        1. Given that we have really no statistics how many chastity belts are in use, it's hard to give a probability. And technically even events with a probability 0 can happen, they are just less probable than that all the forum members winning their local lottery (including the ones that don't buy tickets).

        2. The question is always do similar people attract similar people. Fact is this forum is one of the few places where you can discuss CB usage in fairly civilized non-sexualized environment on the Internet. Actually, AFAIK, the only one English-speaking one, and the German language one is already much broader, e.g. while they are welcoming to everyone, that also includes openly kinky user. Due to that I'm not mentioning the name or url of that site here, sigh, not sure what @Laura 's policy on that is.

        3. Funny discrepancy, BTW, on the German site it's dogma that female chastity belts are basically not capable keeping females from masturbation, and are not really safe for long term wear. Somehow this is in open contradiction with the ladies here, or it's just that they were measured so much better?

        4. But yes, in the end, the Internet is anonymous, at best pseudonymous. This is not the 1990s and the university chat channel where a clever IT person could unmask all the locals pretending to be somebody else. (And even then, it was more often the boyfriend/girlfriend of the account holder using that account to chat, while waiting for their better half, Internet access in the 90s was way less universal) Trust is usually build up over time. And analyzing their behavior, etc. E.g. take our newly wed. @Angelina Assume that you know nothing, because technically, we know about that entity not much beyond what she posted here, plus on the previous Mr. Poll thread, plus the fact that some users might have interacted with the entity via email.
What exactly could be his/her motivation to tell as a fantasy over 5 years? Money, nope, @Laura is not monetizing this site, so this is not "content" to get eyes on the site.
So that leaves us with assumption (as in high probability) that @Angelina is real and stand alone from @Laura. Is it a fantasy? Probably not, because the site is rather somber.

        5. But even if the members here would register with their electronic IDs (not all EU MS have them yet, AND outside the EU it's more like "look into your web cam and show your regular ID", which makes me wonder when somebody will realize that algorithms/generative AI can trivially modify the stream from your external USB webcam to show whatever you want.), that still prove nothing about the use of CBs, living conditions, and so on, so that would be pointless. So the old fashioned "think and engage your brain, potentially google some stuff" technique is the best we have.

        End-Of-Rant

          George
And Flarum threads are confusing πŸ˜‰ Ranting on a 4 day old post with missing dozens other posts in-between makes one look a bit silly, anyway πŸ˜‰

The fact stays that on the Internet with identities created on the push of a button, only the longevity, potentially with some cross-referencing can make an identity/story believable.

George I'm not saying that this story is impossible, but so perfect timing.

George Money, nope, @Laura is not monetizing this site, so this is not "content" to get eyes on the site.

Imagine, I also pay for the services to run this site πŸ˜‚

George And Flarum threads are confusing

Agree. Flarum is my big disappointment. I expected more when chose this engine

Laura Off-topic but I think Flarum is perfect for the types of discussion held here. Not only the most useful chastity forum but also the most readable!

                [Semi-Offtopic]

George [...] should actually alarm child services around the globe [...]

Without adopting any arguments or stories: From time to time I remember that this forum is accessed globally. Ideas and Ideals - incl. how responsible child care looks like - vary wildly. (Also cp. https://unwedchastity.org/d/680-belting-for-nieces/1398 )

Crime here, "normal" there and vice versa. One considers something immoral or even criminal, the other one a measure to actually prevent immorality or crime. That doesn't excuse anything, I only believe that if we want to foster peace, we need to broaden our perspective. Confronting ourselves with challenging views. Staying in (hopefully non-violent) communication, particularly with people that are not like us. (It is hard; in it's own way harder than fighting.) Offering empathy and trying to understand their views. We don't have to like or endorse anything.

Owl Yeah, never forget, certain parts of the USA look surprising much like the Iran, they only use some version of the Bible instead of Qu'ran. Including making VPNs and porn basically illegal πŸ˜‰
Sorry, one should be correct. Putting so high a burden on porn sites, that porn sites prefer to geo fence certain US states out.

Sigh. And we do have EU MS that appreciate the Iranian mentality too, again under the banner of Catholic Church.

George I mean, I doubt anyone here thinks the regulars are characters provided by the forum for readers' entertainment. But what is quite realistic is that at least some of the things regulars here tell are a bit embellished. Maybe people exaggerate their situation a bit, or report the roles they are playing as if they were a true story, not play. Maybe people who started posting fictional stories for a cheap thrill grew to enjoy the community, but could not come clean without jeopardizing their relationship with it.

I do not think we should take any report we see here as evidence that the exact things described in it are actually happening. But the ones that are completely removed from reality usually tend to get bored quickly, or tell tales so tall they are completely unbelievable. Anyone who has stuck around for weeks deserves at least the benefit of doubt.

And as for identity verification, that would probably catch the older not-so-gentlemen roleplaying as young women, but that says nothing about whether the rest of their experiences is genuine while also scaring off a whole lot of legitimate members.

youdontknowme I agree. The people looking for a thrill get bored pretty fast. And tend to be a bit over the top, like going 24/7 from the start or a custom belt suddenly being available to wear.
They get sorted out rather quickly though

Laura Well, I do have admit it's still nicer than most forum software.

Which I personally avoid like the devil the water that has flown through a church. You know the one that is supposed to have been magically to have been altered to be holy but no changes have been ever shown scientifically πŸ˜‰

Sorry, I forgot you are American, and you take religion more seriously πŸ˜‰

George Dunno about that, I personally prefer the likes of SMF, PHPBB or vBulletin. But this community feels small and topical enough thatsomething like Flarum may be adequate.

                        youdontknowme

youdontknowme And as for identity verification, that would probably catch the older not-so-gentlemen roleplaying as young women, but that says nothing about whether the rest of their experiences is genuine while also scaring off a whole lot of legitimate members.

Exactly, it would serve little purpose. Beside that it would not work globally. I always snigger about "online exams", "online verification of physical IDs", where the institutions themselves (or better even use 3rd party proctoring services) to make sure that it's student X that is doing the exam.

                        1. I'm not sure why nobody seems to realize that nearly all webcams connect via USB. There are literally single board computers out there optimized for video numeric processing with USB host interfaces and USB gadget/device interfaces included, meaning they can connect a real webcam, could be programmed to alter the data, and then pretend to be a webcam. Which are basically UVC, USB standard devices in most cases. This is BSc practical work level for CS students here around for the SBC/stream stuff, and the video alteration for AI/Datascience students. (AI students learn literally how to train networks to modify images in their first year in their Intro to AI classes)

                        2. but you can literally go way more low tech. Student X is sitting at a desk against a wall. Not something that you can reasonably forbid. How do you prevent that the test is actually taken by person Y behind a wall, with a HDMI/USB cable going through the wall? Physical KVM switch for the USB/HDMI cables that not even the best proctoring software on a locked down Windows PC can detect.

youdontknowme I do not think we should take any report we see here as evidence that the exact things described in it are actually happening. Obviously. I think I even mentioned that I reserve in my posts to replace identifying details with semantically, in the context of the post, equal details.

One thing that I think many people question is how so many "children/(young) adults" don't simply run to the authorities. The whole scale of voluntary to involuntary wearing, because it's certainly not a simply binary question.

Then especially family provides for the young not only economic resources, but usually also things like a home, social contacts, education, …

I think what people don't realize that situations are individual and complicated.

Another side note, the better situated a family, the more niceties a family can provide (not all do, most do) to their offspring. I do admit that this site has triggered a bit of retrospective for me, but I realized that most of my better friends/acquaintances when I was younger, from "better socio-economic classes" usually had some form of a what I call "devil's deal" in place. And no, none of them involved something as benign as a chastity belt.

In the best cases only one "crazy parent" who harassed the kid. (And I mean it, in that case I know that multiple psychiatrists have expressed the desire to see her mother for chat. Purely to understand the family system better. But mum knows that she is fine, it's all the others that are sick.)
But dropping the contact with the family is not an option, the rest of the family is important to her. As is her inheritance, πŸ˜€

So I don't see the big problem as some with stories that some poor lazy persons sell their "sexuality" for a car, or a place to sleep or tuition fees. It's all individual cases, it's all complicated, and from my life experience especially for youngsters, it can be very complicated and painful to cut that virtual umbilical with their parents when they really become independent. Redefining that relationship with your parents is hard, IMHO.

Sasha Yeah, for me there is still that one fascinating discrepancy, that all our ladies here seem to have big problems with masturbation in their belts.

cantsolvethecaptcha It's far from perfect. It's hard to follow very long threads in the past, or try to see all posts of a very chatty user. Not very stable usage trying to insert all posts of a user, 20 pieces a time into the DOM model of the page. Not if a user has say over 5000 posts.

Compare to more classic forums, like German CB discussion link it's a joy. (@Laura did not comment about links, so I risk it, if it's not okay, exercise your authority and delete my post πŸ˜‰ )

@Sasha coming back to my comment above, according to the thread, female CB simply do not protect against masturbation. (SB = Selbstbefriedigung German for self joy) should you want to try a translator, a Q-Tip and a Hitachi magic wand is everything a female with a chastity belt needs, and basically no belt can be so well tailored to prevent a Q-tip coming under the shield.
