              Laura usually it's by the age of 25-27 - depends on the girl because nowadays some wait for thier education to finish or even get thier first jobs before marriage.

                              Not everyone lives in a country where the subsistence level is guaranteed by the state.

                              So yes in a way it's mutual assured destruction, but if you are not really economically independent, nuking the family that provides you with resources might be one of these cases "yes it's your right, but have you considered all the side effects?" where experienced advisors (lawyers, tax advisors, etc) might suggest skipping exercising your rights.
