thank you for saying that, finally someone who addresses the right thing. it is quite clear that rape is a crime and it is not the woman's fault if she is raped, whether with or without a chastity belt. the situation that the belt protects the woman from rape must not actually come about and a normal man knows that too.

As I wrote in a earlier posting it is unforgivable that something like this happened to you. It is a shame for our society that it still happens.

I was pointing out that also the criminals have guns. I do not see an improvement at this situation.

Some people say we should have more surveillance cameras everywhere. What kind of improvement would it be if after a crime was happen we can see it on the record and maybe sue the criminal. We should make the environment safe through sufficient police presence and strengthening of civil courage so that it does not come to a dangerous situation in the first place. I have seen it on the Reeperbahn in Hamburg where police groups are on the road or at the stations in Melbourne at the weekend. That has made a difference.

You are right. In a first time post did not seem, such aggressive, but now, I read it twice, and yes, even if I can not share the approach to male chastity, some words are not adequate.

Now, putting the issues with gender discrimination and how to deal with sex crime aside, here are some ways in which I could see a world where chastity is dictated by policy:

1) Institutional policy. Basically, though there is no law mandating chastity, several institutions (e.g. colleges) might mandate the wearing of chastity devices as a condition of enrolment. While claims that it would reduce distractions are quickly revealed to be false, it did cut down significantly on people who regret drunk sexual escapades.

2) Ya got a loicense for dat? Imagine like just how we require people to demonstrate that they are able to use their motor vehicles and firearms responsibly before we let them handle those in public, people were required to prove their ability to behave responsible sexually before they were allowed to go out in public without a chastity device on.

3) Cultural tradition. Again, no laws mandating any of that, but wearing a chastity belt might be a social norm. I will not start a discussion of starting age here, but wearing your first chastity device might be a coming-of-age right, and young adults living with their parents would have their keys held by them, married people would typically have their keys held by their spouse (to guarantee and demonstrate marital fidelity - this is not necessarily an act of submission, so mutual keyholding within a couple might be totally in line with the tradition). As for singles living on their own... either an older family member living nearby, or a trusted authority in the local community or a community-appointed guardian or something along those lines that ensures the wearer can keep themself sanitary without unchaste behavior. I am kinda getting the mental image of a medieval village where the priest is simultaneously teacher and therapist as well - in a more modern, religiously pluralistic setting something like a medical clinic or something could come to mind.

I'm a willing wearer. So I'd wear the belt, and use the proceeds to oppose the use of it to oppress people. All a government would have to do is pass punitive taxes to turn that tax exemption into coercion.

Well, this escalated quickly. Lana, your comments reminds me of a few Whisper posts, where a woman said, "if I was a dictator, everyone who is not married would be forced to wear a chastity belt." Taking away anyone's freedom will always lead to a revolution (or more people to learn about tools to avoid such devices).

Of course; even if you decide to ignore the legal and cultural shifts that those scenarios require, there are practical issues that are even harder to overcome - every person in a country must be able to adapt to long-term wear of the "have the key out of reach" kind, probably within quite the limited time frame as well. And for the ladies, a full belt with all the struggles that come with an unyielding pair of steel underpants is pretty much the bare minimum - unlike us boys, you do not have any bulky external genitalia you could attach a cage to. Which makes the idea of nobody in that fictional culture being physically unable to comply with the law/tradition a bit challenging to say the least.

Jonas I would definitely classify masturbation as a potentially addictive behaviour, but I've not been convinced by arguments that such addictions always require therapy. People may smoke and over-eat because they are fruitlessly trying to fill gaps in their lives, but many also do these things simply because they feel nice.

I would reckon that if your main motivation behind masturbation is that it feels nice, it is hard to classify it as addiction unless you spend so much time on it that it prevents you from doing other things. Generally, I would say an addiction is an unnecessary something you compulsively do without really enjoying it. But I feel like this off-topic tangent has overstayed its welcome, so if we want to continue discussing compulsive male masturbation, we should probably move towards another topic. Which is also the reason I will make two different posts here, makes it easier for moderators to split the topic if that is what they decide is appropriate.

Same way we do it with drivers. If you get into a random (or for-cause) check and are found to be driving without a license, you get a fine, or in egregious cases a court summons.

Probably not going to involve dropping your bottoms in broad daylight to check for fit though, so... uh... I do not know - electronic tagging perhaps? Little RFID tags in the chastity belts (and authorized keys, and unlock licenses) so anyone passing within close proximity of a checkpoint can be scanned to ensure they are wearing the belt and leaving their key behind if they do not have a license with them.
